Don’t Judge Me, Please

Daily Prompt: “Buyers, Beware?  The year is 2214, and your computer’s dusty hard drive has just resurfaced at an antique store. Write a note to the curious buyer explaining what he or she will find there.”

To Whom it May Concern,

This antique, a relic from the past was once my life and my livelihood.  I kept treasured memories here, just look at the thousands of pictures of people, pets and places, especially my beloveds.

I loved photography, capturing moments of my life to keep safe here.  Holding onto the memory, the moment for just a bit longer.  To linger and not forget.

I poured out my heart in documents saved here. Books, poetry, journals. It’s all here.  All of me, my deepest darkest secrets, my hopes and dreams.  My nightmares. My struggles.  This is me and my rawest and realest.

I hope you enjoy what you find.  For what you are holding is me, my legacy, my life.

Sincerely,

me (you don’t need to know my name yet, it is part of the journey as you discover who I was)

P.S. When you are done, if you could please find any remaining family members I may have and give them this computer.  For it is their history.
