His thoughts were always fleeting, like trying to catch a butterfly. A glimpse here and there. They never stayed long, before he could entertain them, remember them, they were gone. And he had already forgotten her, he lived moment to moment. She placed her hand on his check and kissed his forehead. “I will always love you.” She whispers in his ear. The smell of apples.
